What is Family Helping Family?

It is when a family member or friend is paid to provide care to another family member or friend who has qualified for a Medicaid Waiver Program. Comforting Home Care by Phoebe will work with your loved one or friend to complete the hiring process and any necessary training needed. Comforting Home Care by Phoebe will then also meet with the family member in need of care to complete a free in-home assessment.

Common Questions

  • Does my family member quality for FREE Home Care Services?

    As of January 2023, if your loved one makes less than $2,742 monthly income (excluding spouse’s income if married) and has less than $8,000 in assets excluding home, vehicle and personal belongings, then he or she may qualify for FREE Home Care Services.

  • Who can be a paid Caregiver?

    Anyone except for a spouse, a POA, or a Legal Guardian. 

  • How do I become a Caregiver for my family member or friend?

  • What are the requirements to become a Caregiver for my loved one?

    All our CAREGIVERS must be 18 years of age or older, pass a criminal background check, have a negative tuberculosis test completed and complete our onboarding along with pass a competency test. 

  • Does Comforting Home Care by Phoebe pay Family helping Family Caregiver overtime?

    Yes. Comforting Home Care by Phoebe will pay 1.5 times the CAREGIVER payrate to caregivers who work over 40 hours in a work week.

  • Does Comforting Home Care by Phoebe pay Holiday pay to Family helping Family Caregivers?

    Yes, Comforting Home Care by Phoebe pays 1.5 times the CAREGIVER payrate to caregivers that work on the following holidays:  New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
