Executive Profile: Bob Monko, President and CFO

Bob, an engineering graduate of Penn State University and successful Capital Equipment Sales Director, founded Comforting Home Care by Phoebe alongside his longtime friends John Gaffney and Greg Skibinski. Each driven by a lifelong desire to give back to society, the three founders applied their individual talents to establish CHCP as a regional leader in serving seniors in need.

Shortly after the formation of CHCP, Bob himself became debilitated by an unfortunate series of accidents and was forced to undergo three separate surgeries and months of physical therapy over a three-year time span.

Not wanting to burden his wife and children, Bob turned to physical therapists, occupational therapists and others for support. This community of care professionals became a fixture of daily life, helping him to recover from both the physical injuries and the accompanying emotional stress that life had dealt him.

While grateful for the quality care he received, Bob had found assembling this network of providers was an incredibly frustrating challenge. He saw how screening candidates, coordinating schedules and learning the ins and outs of insurance coverage was a burden that distracted from what was most important: the care itself.

It was then that Bob decided to go all-in on his mission to help other families in need of care. He’d always believed in the important work of CHCP, but a new fire arose within him. Not all families had the resources, skills and expertise to arrange support for their loved ones — and Bob knew seniors were one of the most underserved populations.
